DizzyNails

Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

This is Nicole by OPI Sea How Far You Go. It's one of the new Target exclusive colors.

It's a pretty unique duochrome shimmer.

When I first picked up the bottle, I didn't really know what to think of the actual color. I just knew I wanted it!

The predominant color is light gold. I'm not sure I want to say it's a cool toned gold, but it's definitely not very warm.

There's a weird and slight undercurrent of blue.

The blue combined with the gold makes for a somewhat green effect at times, almost khaki or olive.

Isn't it just crazy?!

It reminds me a bit of Sally Hansen HD Opluent Cloud, but there really isn't the purple/gray thing going on here.

Do you think this is pretty or fugly?

I really like it.

This is Orly Royal Velvet. I used three coats here. It is a majestic, flashy, duochrome blurple.

No problems with application.

I absolutely adore this color. It's just perfect.

The duochrome seems to really come out the most in artificial lighting, oddly enough. I took some pictures in my bathroom lighting that you will see soon, below.

Recently my husband looked at my blog and remarked that I post too many pictures of the polish. He said I only need one or two.

Oh, good Husband, I need lots of pictures because they are all so pretty!! ;)

Maybe someday there will be a Mr. Dr. DizzyNails blog and he will just put one or two pictures up per post.

Let's all stay tuned for that!

I have to say that I had a really good nail polish day. I found the new Target Nicole by OPIs!

I was so excited and bought all the ones I wanted (which was nearly all of them).

In fact, I just put on Sea How Far You Go and that will be my next post.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

....and I hate it right back!! Ugh. This is MAC Biker Blue. I just HAD to have it, even though I'm certain I have dupes. I did three coats here.

It was surprisingly sheer.

A couple of terrific gals on MUA suggested that I layer Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure over it.

I did, and here is the result.

There were some very scary sore looking cuticle spots that I tried to blur out for your viewing comfort. :/

But here is why MAC polish hates me! It started lifting at the corners, in a major way, in less than 24 hours of wear (even with my new-found love base coat, Palladio Fuse)! What the H?!

I should have known. This happened to me with the last MAC polish I wore, Bad Fairy.

I guess I thought with the new awesome-sauce base coat, it might just act right.

Not so much. It's a bummer, too, because it was a fun mani and I'm sad I only got to wear it for a day. Ah well....onto bigger and better things (I hope!). :)

Here is another Bieber polish for you. Two coats of My Lifesaver.

I didn't do as great of a job on my application with the mega brush, this time around.

I like this color. I know it's been done a lot lately, but it's the first time I've worn one just like this.

It just feels fresh, cool, and calm to me.

I'm thinking I might layer something over top of it tomorrow. So many ideas of what that might be!!

What do you think of this color?

I hope everyone has a good Friday. I don't know about you, but I cannot wait for the weekend to come!

Hello, Lovelies! Right now I am wearing this combination: Ulta Bam-Blue-Zled with OPI DS Shimmer.

Please forgive my poor dry, haggard looking skin/cuticles as well as that groovy dent on my middle finger (this is what happens when you thin your quick dry top coat too much!).

I used just two coats of Bam-Blue-Zled and one coat of Shimmer. Good ol' Shimmer. It makes everything better!

I really love these two together and some of you may be realizing that it looks quite a bit like China Glaze 2Nite. :)

I have an exciting update regarding my experience with Palladio Fuse base coat! On this mani I decided to layer Gelous first, then Fuse, and then do my normal thing. I was hoping to get the stain prevention benefits of Gelous but keep the awesome staying power of the Fuse.

Well, this is day three and I am still going strong! Not a chip in site. I am thrilled. Of course my nails are already stained from a week or two of just the Fuse on its own, but I think I'm going to use this combination from now on and I *should* be golden!

The girl wants to have her cake and eat it, too. :)

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
