DizzyNails

Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

Ever since I saw the polish, read the name, I knew I had to have NYX Girls Pimp My Nail! Oh man, I just love it!

I started with three coats. It's a neon jelly but actually did not dry matte. Odd.

I added one coat of KleanColor Holo Green.

I'm pretty sure it was still fairly wet in these pictures, so that explains any gushy-looking-ness you might see.

It turned out fun!

Oh yeah, that pic looked really squishy!

Pimp my nail! Yeah, baby, yeah!!!

Hello, Lovelies! I've missed you all. Sorry for being absent. Got a little busy, a little lazy. I've still been doing lots of manicures, though, so I just have more pictures back-logged! Yipes. Gotta hop to and start posting regularly. :)

This is two coats of NYX Girls Algae topped with a coat of Nars Adelita.

Algae applied beautifully, like all NYX Girls. Adelita is a sheer golden peachy shimmer, perfect for layering!

This mani turned out pretty strange, texturally! I still like it.

I started with two coats of OPI DS Radiance, a flawless silver foil.

Next, I added a coat of Nicole by OPI Such a Go-Glitter.

I got that one at Target and even though it's not opaque on its own (at least, it wouldn't be very easily), I still love it! It has blue, black, and holographic glitter bits.

It was hard to tell from the bottle exactly what to expect.

I think foils are probably more fun on their own or stamped, but this was a fun little deviation for me.

This manicure started with two coats of Maybelline Gray-T Glamour. I have to say, the brush on this polish is very odd. It's cut sort of at an angle, but almost looking like it was accidental!

I have some older Maybellines and they have seemingly normal brushes, so it was a little unsettling - not to mention rather difficult for me to use! In any case, I added a coat of Revlon's Belle.

I think this is a very pretty combination and I loved how it turned out. Unfortunately for me, it started chipping and peeling within 24 hours! No go, Captain!

I was still in my blue phase! I started with two coats of MAC Ming Blue.

This has a good application and is quite pigmented.

For bling, I used Kleancolor Starry Meteor, one coat.

Nice! I like it!

Kleancolor makes some really unique and cool glitters!

I love the intense silver glitter. It's so shiny!

Folks, this fine post comes to you all the way from Slippery Rock, PA! I'm on a little vacay, visiting my best bud until Tuesday. I haven't been back to the Pittsburgh area since I moved just over two years ago! I'm looking forward to visiting some old haunts and seeing good friends. :) Off to the 'Burgh and the Zoo!

Check out this hot holo combo! I used Kleancolor Disco Purple as the base (three coats) and topped it with Holo Chrome.

The bottle shown above is Disco Purple. It's a really great blurple shimmer.

Holo Chrome is AWESOME. It's a purple holo that leans just a bit blue, although not quite as blue as it seems to appear in my pictures. They're pretty close to being color accurate, though!

I threw out the top cap cover thingy on Holo Chrome, along with several others from my Kleancolor order, because they arrived in a weird semi-melted state. How bizarre!

I ordered from Kleancolor's site.

They have a really great range of colors and finishes. They also have swatch pictures of all the colors on Flickr! The brushes aren't my favorite, but they're not the worst, either. Also, you should know that these puppies smell pretty strong! They have a nice toxic waste sort of scent but it honestly doesn't bother me too much. Is that bad? :)

I like this last shot because it shows off the cool little blue sparkle hiding in that mess of holo. Secret blue sparkle! Woo hoo!

I went through a bit of a blue period a few weeks back. This is a Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Cosmic Blue, three coats, with one coat of Nicole by OPI Nicole...Spotted!

I definitely love the look of these together!

Cosmic Blue is a little simplistic and old school, I suppose. It has a frosty, almost metallic finish with holo glitter pieces and bars. Kind of reminds me of something I might have owned in 1996. :)

But with the Nicole added, it looks super awesome!

Nicole...Spotted! is a sheer aqua jelly with lots of various sized iridescent glitters.

It is from the Gossip Girl collection, which I found at Ulta.

I have sort of an irrational love for Nicole polishes. I don't know why I love them so much.

A lot of people complain about the weird bottle shape. It doesn't really bother me. I can't say I like it or dislike it. I just know that I love Nicoles.

Probably part of it is that they come up with lots of cool glitters and shimmers. Also, most are kind of hard to find and limited edition. Stupid limited edition polishes, why must I love you so?!

I think that Nicole...Spotted! is definitely close to being a dupe for China Glaze Atlantis, but I also do not think they are exactly the same.

Atlantis has holographic glitter pieces while Nicole...Spotted! does not. Atlantis also is a little darker and greener, and it just more jam packed with glitter. If you like one or the other, I don't think it's too much to have both!

Hi everyone! Here is OPI Designer Series Magic, all by itself. I didn't put anything on top of it!

I am pretty sure I used three coats here.

It has a bit of a purple flash, but I wasn't able to document it well with these photos.

I don't think it's probably very unique, but it sure is pretty! Applies and wears well, too.

What can I say - I'm a sucker for blues. I'm also a sucker for the Designer Series.

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
