Ozotic Rainforest

Here is my feeble attempt to capture in photos, the awesomeness that is Ozotic Pro 503.

For my base color I chose Nfu-Oh GS-14 for its unparalleled sparkly holo goodness. I used two coats.

GS-14 is a virtual cosmos of inky black hawtness.

Next, one coat of Ozotic Pro 503.

I took these pictures indoors, at night, right after I finished the mani.

503 is a beautiful, lush, green multi-chromatic polish that flashes to paler green, yellowy green, as well as a burgundy sort of purple color.

The flashes are at times subtle, but generally quite vivid and mesmerizing.

Here are the outdoor pictures that I just took about an hour ago.

This is a good 36 hours into my wear. I also had the pleasure of doing some house cleaning yesterday, so I'm happy to say that everything is still wearing well so far!

The last couple of manicures I've worn I have used a coat of Palladio's Nail Brilliance under a coat of Seche Vite. I don't generally like to do two layers of top coat unless it's necessary, but I have to say that I'm liking this combination. Great dry time and durability.

You can't see the color shifts as well in direct sunlight, but it still shows lovely shimmer and depth.

I also really enjoy the holographic sparkles peeking out from underneath 503.

The flashes of different colors become more apparent in indirect lighting.

Here it reminds me of a blackened, sparkling Emerald.

It was a BLACK Friday

I'm slowly catching up! This was the mani I wore on Black Friday. I work in retail, so I wanted it to be somewhat special, to help get me through the mayhem!

I started with two coats of BB Couture for Men Wire Stripper. It looks almost black, but is more of a dark gray with some very pretty and interesting shimmer that goes a bit pink and gold.

It applied beautifully and I didn't quite capture the shimmer in my pics, but it's gorgeous!

It's another fabulous addition to my ever-growing "almost-black" collection!

Then, for fun, I added two coats of Nfu-Oh 60. It's a black jelly with red, orange, yellow, and green shifting flakies.

You can see hints of blue reflecting in the bottle, but it didn't look that way on my nails. Maybe it would reflect different on top of a different color.

They kind of ended up looking Fall-ish and less stunning than I'd hoped, but really, I can't complain. It's a good combo.

There are very few times I put flakies on top of something and regret it!

Oh, and Black Friday was bonkers for me, utterly crazy.

I'm glad I had some hawt nails to help get me through!

More Catch Up!

What a crazy, long, hard week! I'm glad it's over. I've been wanting to post for a long time, so I'm happy to finally be doing it. :)

This was two coats of Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier with one coat of Sally Hansen HD DVD.

I love the purple to blue shift on DVD!

Here is Nfu-Oh 569. I did three coats. It was slightly annoying in application, but completely worth it and non-problematic in the end (if that makes any sense)!

Yummy, awesome almost black, luscious green jelly!

And here is Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues. I did two sort of thick coats.

I put it over Essence Pool Party (one coat, I think), which was completely unnecessary!! I had no idea it would be so opaque on its own.

I think the pictures really turned out terrific. It reminds me of blue jeans, but in a sexy, edgy, chunky-glitter-interpretation kind of way!

Kind of like blue jeans and asphalt?! Yeah. Love it.

Now for some more chunky blue glitter fabulousness, Lippmann Across the Universe!

I also did two thick-ish coats of this one.

It didn't wear too well on me and was chippy by the end of the first day. I freaking loved it so much that I applied it again, as a repeat, and wore for another day or so after, in a row!

Across the Universe is the first ever color I've loved so much that I wore twice straight in a row. I also completely forgive it for not wearing well, because it's so freaking gorgeous and makes me really happy when I have it on. Next time I wear it I think I will try it over something similar. Maybe it will hold on better that way!

Huhlo! Holo!

Hey, Peeps! I have some pictures for ya of a fun holo stamped mani I did not too long ago. I literally had a holo craving when I put this on. A craving, I tell ya! This is Nfu-Oh 66. I used three coats.

It's sweet perfection.

How much do you love holo polishes? I can't go without 'em.

It was terrific on its own, but I decided to add some Bundle Monster stamps. :)

Again, I used BM20, with black Special Konad polish.

I can't take credit for this idea all on my own, because I saw some of the lovely ladies on Make Up Alley doing this type of design on holo polish and fell in love!

I definitely had a little trouble with the Konad black polish. It's so pigmented, so it inevitably gets all over the place with the cotton and my fingers. Also, it wasn't transferring totally clean.

You like my wee Stitch doll? My hubby got it for me when we went to Disney with our little nieces a couple months ago. He's so cute!!! (the doll, erm.)

Hubby is cute, too. Hee hee. Even though the stamping wasn't perfection, it still looked really awesome and I was loving wearing this!! Obviously I still have lots to learn about stamping. I think I may try using my beloved Illamasqua Boosh the next time I want to stamp with black.

Sprinkles and Flakes

I had some fun with my OPI Shrek polishes last week. I used Rumple's Wiggin' and What's With the Cattitude? and had primarily purple on my left hand with primarily blue on my right (not shown). I did a reverse accent finger on each hand - left ring finger and right index (don't ask me why, I just like it like that!). And I topped it all with a coat of China Glaze Nova!
