Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

I started here with two excellent coats of Nubar Marble Tower.  Then, two coats of Lynnderella's Gotta Love Brains.
If you haven't heard of Lynnderella yet, then you should definitely check out her blog here!  I just learned that this polish is dedicated to one of my favorite gals on MUA's Nail Board.  Double bonus!  :)
Gotta Love Brains is pretty much pure awesome in a bottle.  It has baby micro shimmer, several sizes of medium to large glitter, bar glitter, square glitter in several sizes, and hex glitter in various sizes and colors.  I mean, ZOMG!!  It's everything I had hoped it would be, and honestly, so much more.
I used two coats of Seche Vite over it and everything is exceedingly smooth and gorgeous (even the giant hex on my index finger that looks like it's sticking up funny).  Every nail is so uniquely beautiful and dare I say, almost bizarre?!  I adore this.  So.  Much.

So, I'm trying out the new format on Blogger!  It's kind of weird...hope you don't mind if my post looks totally different!
This is three coats of Nubar Indigo Illusion.
You've probably been seeing a lot of this one lately in the blogosphere.  I will admit, that's part of the reason that I wanted to wear it again!
I didn't have awesome pictures of it - which, as you can see, it totally deserves!
I absolutely love this polish and all the beautiful colors that it flashes!
It's blue, it's green, it's purple, it's gold, and it's pink!  Maybe it's even other colors I'm not seeing.  :)
The flashes are all pretty strong and apparent, too, which is fabulous.
The application was really easy, too!  It could maybe get a little brush-strokey if you're careless, but overall I found it to be not very fussy.
I'm pretty sure you can still buy this off Nubar's website here.
Do you love it as much as I do?

I'm still working my way through old manis that somehow got lost and forgotten! Here is Nubar's Knight's Armor.

I did two coats.

It's really fabulous and I love all the chunky glitter!

Yes, it was a pain to remove, but totally worth it for me.

Have I raved to you yet about the Acetone polish remover tub/pot that you can buy at Target stores? If so, forgive me for mentioning it. If not, listen close! Target sells a white plastic tub of pure acetone. It's their own brand, but says Studio Tools on it. If you love to wear glitter, like me, then you need to buy this A-SAP! Buy two, in fact. :) It has pink plastic spike scrubbers inside it and you stick your finger in then rub it against the spikes. Glitter and flakies are removed rather easily. Voila! The acetone is a bit drying, yes, but if you can moisturize your hands and cuticles after, you'll be okay.

Hello, lovely friends! I have lots of gorgeous pictures for you. I hope you'll forgive my absence as of late. I'm not sure what my problem is, but I know I've been feeling stressed with new responsibilities at work. I also had family visit recently, which kept me preoccupied for about a week. My nieces are too cute for words, by the way!

This is my nail-of-the-day, Essie Van d'Go. I did three coats, just to be safe. I probably could have gotten away with two.

I really like this. It feels light and refreshing, like a break for me from what I usually wear.

I don't generally adore creams, but I do love this. It's so soft and pretty but not entirely girly and frilly.

Below is Illamasqua Insanity, three coats. It's pretty insane, yup.

Bright, mid-tone orange cream.

It's not quite traffic cone orange, but it does demand attention. It's fun and funky. I got a lot of compliments on it the day I wore it.

It's a UK exclusive color, unfortunately for those of us who live elsewhere.

I adore the next polish, Nubar Violet Sparkle. It's so freaking stunning and fabulous! Three coats of luscious, purple, sparkly, dreamy goodness. It's a bit warmer and more red in real life. The pictures are faking it out, making it look more blue-toned. Silly purple!

Ohhhh here's another winning fantabulous Nubar purple, Hyacinth Sparkle. Three coats. What's not to love? I highly recommend the entire Sparkle collection from Nubar. I wore a few others and neglected to photo them, but I will make a point to swatch them soon. They are terrific!!

Here's yet another fun one, Nubar Gem, three coats.

Three coats of NYX Girls Fig, an ambiguous vampy beaut!

It's more purply/blue/gray in real life, but still very dark and naughty.

Three coats of L.A. Girl Rockstar Head Banging with one coat of L.A. Girl Rockstar Live on Stage.

LOVE me some Rockstars!

This is three coats of LA Splash Golden Seahorse. Lovely, no?

Illamasqua Nudge, two coats, with two coats of Rococo Gold Leaf Lacquer. So much fun! I heart my Rococo Gold Leaf Lacquer so much...and it's so toxic stinky, just so ya know.

And last, but not least, is NYX Girls Boho, two coats. This is a gorgeous soft, cool green, with a metallic sort of shimmer.

I hope you enjoyed the show!! I keep acquiring polish at mind-boggling rates, so be assured that many more pictures and reviews will be on the way soon. :)

XOXO

I'm back!  This post is going to be a little crazy and disjointed but mostly I just want to provide you fabulous people with some eye candy and I can't believe it's been so long since I really posted.  This past week has been a really insane whirlwind experience (more on this later).

First of all I have Massini Purple Medallion.  It is awweeeesome.  Really glittertastic-holo-fabulosity.  It's so bright and blindingly holo.  I apologize that the color looks so different in the following two pictures (again, you have to love my struggles with taking pictures at night).  In real life it looks pretty reddish-purple, if that makes sense.

It was such a pain to remove - major glitter overload.  Totally worth it, though!

Below is a combination I did last Sunday or Monday before I went to NYC.  It's Nubar Pasadena Purple with Nfu-Oh 51.  It looked a bit warmer in reality.

Now say hello to Anna Sui!  *cue the angels singing*  This is 001.  It is sheer white with iridescent pastel shimmah.

Below are 201, 308, and 307.

Below are 103, 200, 005.  200 is slightly lavender in real life.

604, 603, and 301.

305, 702, and 302.

402, 003, and 203.

These are decals that came in the cute limited edition trio sets that you will see a little further down.  Bonus!  I wasn't expecting them.

313, 312, and 105.  How cute are they?!  They came in a super cute tin, too.

106, 008, and 404.

Today I slapped on 105 and 008.  I'm embarrassed to even post this picture because of my awful nubby ring fingernail, but I can't deprive you of the goodness that is Anna Sui nail polish.  It is a beautiful thing.

If you didn't already know, her polishes are rose scented.  It's pretty cool!  I was worried that I wouldn't like the smell, but it's quite nice.  Someone even commented on it today because she thought it was my perfume and she liked it!  I thought that was fun.  Another little fact - the top of the rose bottle handles are sculpted into a rose shape, too.  Apparently roses are where it's at.

Yes, I bought so much.  I knew I would get a lot, but I didn't know I would go crazy like that!  They were out of stock on some really sweet colors, which is so sad, but I'm trying to focus on the positives here.  I scored.  Yes I did.  If you ever have a chance to go to the Anna Sui boutique with is on Greene Street in Soho, please make it happen.  It's worth it.  It's so incredibly awesome.  And her cosmetics are out of this world, as well.  I got some amazing eye makeup - all of it indescribably shimmahrific and glittertastic.

Today I bought the new Fall collection of Sephora by OPIs.  I also nabbed Nars Tokaido Express, a lovely deep purple.  Stay tuned, peeps!

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
