Another Softy

Right now I'm wearing Misa Fountain of Youth. It's likely coming off later today, but it's had a pretty good run!

You'll have to pardon my junky application. I had put this on really, really late at night and was super tired.

This is three coats. It's a shimmery soft, sheer mint green.

It reads a little frosty on the nail, but I still find it to be beautiful and not overly obnoxious.

Application and wear is great. You do need to be somewhat careful when applying, to avoid brushstrokes.

I really like having this in my collection. It's different from every other mint (mostly cremes) I have! It's an ethereal beauty and reminds me very much of an old and dearly beloved cream eyeshadow I used ages ago.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to post in a little while. Things have been kind of hectic for me. I'm back, though, so I hope you enjoy some nice mannequin hands!!

This is three coats of Misa Whimsical Wish.

It's a sheer, shimmery peachy nude. I had no problems with application or wear.

I ended up really loving this mani, way more than I could have anticipated.

I think my previous nude mani primed me for really loving this look. I wouldn't normally care too much for a light peachy color, but I love how it's soft and ever so slightly unexpected (at least, for me).

I also think I'm starting to appreciate softer colors when my nails are longer. Call me crazy, but I get self-conscious somehow when I wear wild, vampy, or bling-tastic colors on my "long" nails.

Maybe I'm going through a phase, too. You never know!

At any rate, Whimsical Wish gave me a nice first-time-ever mannequin hands look that I definitely loved wearing!

Nice Nude

I've never in my life actually wanted to put on a nude nail polish before. Never. But, the other night, for some reason unknown to me, I did want to put on a nude polish. Specifically, Cult Nails Cruisin' Nude. This is two coats, shown below. Sorry about the acetone abused skin!

Cruisin' Nude has a really pretty pink shimmer to it. I decided to add a coat of a long-time lemming for me that I just recently acquired, OPI What's Dune?

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh LOVES IT SO MUCH!!!

The holo is awesome, even with two top coats on! And it looks incredibly great in indoor lighting even when the holo is not revealing itself.

Understated yet flashy, dare I say? I have no idea what's going on with me that I'm craving this type of mani. In any case, I'm just going to go with it.

If you happen to have these polishes, or even a similar nude to put under What's Dune?, I highly recommend it! I ordered Cult Nails polishes from their site HERE. I'm not affiliated in any way with this brand, but I do know that it is a brand spanking new baby brand of polish, created by a fellow nail blogger, and she even lives really close to me here in Florida! How cool is that?!

Ozotic Rainforest

Here is my feeble attempt to capture in photos, the awesomeness that is Ozotic Pro 503.

For my base color I chose Nfu-Oh GS-14 for its unparalleled sparkly holo goodness. I used two coats.

GS-14 is a virtual cosmos of inky black hawtness.

Next, one coat of Ozotic Pro 503.

I took these pictures indoors, at night, right after I finished the mani.

503 is a beautiful, lush, green multi-chromatic polish that flashes to paler green, yellowy green, as well as a burgundy sort of purple color.

The flashes are at times subtle, but generally quite vivid and mesmerizing.

Here are the outdoor pictures that I just took about an hour ago.

This is a good 36 hours into my wear. I also had the pleasure of doing some house cleaning yesterday, so I'm happy to say that everything is still wearing well so far!

The last couple of manicures I've worn I have used a coat of Palladio's Nail Brilliance under a coat of Seche Vite. I don't generally like to do two layers of top coat unless it's necessary, but I have to say that I'm liking this combination. Great dry time and durability.

You can't see the color shifts as well in direct sunlight, but it still shows lovely shimmer and depth.

I also really enjoy the holographic sparkles peeking out from underneath 503.

The flashes of different colors become more apparent in indirect lighting.

Here it reminds me of a blackened, sparkling Emerald.

Starfish

This is the second "conservative" color I chose to wear for a challenge on MUA. It's not super duper conservative, but it does lack any glitter or shimmer, and I imagine it would be office appropriate. I suppose that all depends on your job, though, huh?

Four coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Starfish Patrick. For the record, I am a big SpongeBob SquarePants fan. You must also know that my dear uncle is an even bigger fan! I think he is SpongeBob's #1 fan, in fact. Shout out to Steve! :) He has a really great site here.

I think it would be really cool to wear this more sheer, but alas, I cannot because my nails are stained.

I do really like how it turned out! It's very pretty, very smooth, and super shiny.

This last picture is taken in the warm, setting sun. That's why it looks crazy orange! It doesn't look like this in real life at all. I just included it to be random.

Me, Conservative?!

I put this on the other night because of a week long MUA Nail Board challenge offered by Finch96. *waves "hi" to Finch* The deal is, if you like the bling, you have to wear conservative, understated colors all week. If you like and normally wear conservative colors, you have to wear glitter and ka-pow blingtastic stuff.

So, here I am with three coats of BB Couture For Men Intake Valve.

Intake Valve has a secret golden shimmer that doesn't translate onto the nail. It's a really hard color to describe in words. I'd say cool beige with a hint of rose. Don't be deceived by the warmth of the picture below - that's just the morning sun making it look warm!

This color feels Mod and fresh to me. It's definitely not what I normally wear, but it's kind of fun and different! I've gotten quite a few compliments on it, too, which is always a plus!

As for my toes, I was not thinking about the challenge when I did my pedi on Tuesday. I used OPI Boo-Berry with Hard Candy Break Up. It is so cool, I can hardly stand it. Don't ask me why, but I just looooove glow-in-the-dark pedis! And then add glitter....perfection. *sigh*

My Toxic Mani

I very recently wore two of my Illamasqua Toxic Nature polishes. I started with two coats of Stagnate.

Stagnate is a mauvey brown creme. It kind of reminds me of chocolate milk, just a little.

I decided to pair it with the ever fugly yet awesome Bacterium!

It turned out pretty cool.

Bacterium is a frosty iridescent and therefore requires slightly more patience and care in applying.

The overall effect looked kind of green, kind of brown, and sometimes a silvery gray, too, depending on the light! And there's also the bit of blue flash to Bacterium.
