DizzyNails

Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

Sunday night.  How does the time go by so fast?  Probably traveling around like a maniac makes time go faster, huh?  Sheesh.  I'm over it!  I'd like to just stay put for a while.  :D

So I got back from Houston late Friday night.  I found new polishes at Urban Outfitters while I was there.  Hooray!  They look really fun.  I'll have to take pics for you soon.  I picked up some really great blues along with some fall-ish colors.  I also found fabulous blue Essies from last year, I believe, dirt cheap at Trade Secret!  St. Barth's Blue, Aruba Blue, and Barbados Blue.  I have to say I've never found anything fab at my local Trade Secret.  Thank you, Houston!!

Here are a few shots of the mani I did the night before I left for TX.  It's Anna Sui 302.  I only have pictures from indoors at night, so please forgive the lack of shiny daylight colorful goodness.  It's still pretty impressive!

Silver, shimmering fleshy pink.

I decided to try out my newest Nars, Tokaido Express from the Fall collection.  It's a groovy deep plum with shimmah.  However, as you will see all too soon, it bubbled like maaaaaad on me!  Wha?!?!  Why, Nars?  I did the same things I always do.  The formula seemed fine, too.  Oh, bother.  Bubbaliciousness, I say.

It pains me to even post that nonsense.  For an easy save I slapped on some flakie goodness.  I know flakie is properly spelled with a "y" at the end.  I just like how it looks with the "ie."  Here is the Nars with one coat of Nfu-Oh 52.  Totally transformed!

I realize the sun is just blinding in that picture (welcome to Orlando).  It washed everything out.  Below is a most excellent picture taken in indirect sunlight.  Viola!

Isn't she a beaut!?  I can't figure out why with the shimmering flakies the pics make the polish finish look almost dusty or something.  It definitely does not look the least bit dusty in real life.  Anyway, if the bubbles are still under there somewhere I'm not able to see or feel them.  :)  Bye-bye bubbles!

Top of the mornin' to ya!  I have a most blessed post for you and guess what?  It's Anna.  Yeah.  We're on a first name basis now.  I think I am in love with Anna.  Don't tell my husband.

Today I am sporting the ever perfect Anna Sui 103.  Below are pictures of the two coat amazingness.  I know - it's so freaking blessed.  Now imagine the smell of fresh roses wafting toward you (or don't - I mean, if you don't like roses don't imagine it).

This next picture might be my favorite because it's so insanely glossy.  You can almost imagine diving into the nails and swimming in them!

Now, if you know me at all, then you know I couldn't leave well enough alone.  I just *had* to add bling.  HELLO!  005 is quite possibly in the dictionary next to the word "bling."  Behold:

This is one coat added.  You know how big chunky glitters often act all crazy and are hard to get positioned onto the nail?  Not this beaut.  It applied so perfectly I could hardly stand it.  Anna, how?!

Check out the blindingness below.  Zoinks!

Again, I am blind.  And so happy.

Equally fab in the shade.

I don't need to say anymore but I will.  These polishes are smooth, glorious, and to.die.for.  I'm wondering if I should have sold a kidney on the black market so I could have bought the entire collection.  I'm going to say that the Anna Sui boutique in New York is my personal nail polish mecca.  Yup.  There ya have it.

Have a loverly day and stay tuned for more Anna!!  :D

I'm back!  This post is going to be a little crazy and disjointed but mostly I just want to provide you fabulous people with some eye candy and I can't believe it's been so long since I really posted.  This past week has been a really insane whirlwind experience (more on this later).

First of all I have Massini Purple Medallion.  It is awweeeesome.  Really glittertastic-holo-fabulosity.  It's so bright and blindingly holo.  I apologize that the color looks so different in the following two pictures (again, you have to love my struggles with taking pictures at night).  In real life it looks pretty reddish-purple, if that makes sense.

It was such a pain to remove - major glitter overload.  Totally worth it, though!

Below is a combination I did last Sunday or Monday before I went to NYC.  It's Nubar Pasadena Purple with Nfu-Oh 51.  It looked a bit warmer in reality.

Now say hello to Anna Sui!  *cue the angels singing*  This is 001.  It is sheer white with iridescent pastel shimmah.

Below are 201, 308, and 307.

Below are 103, 200, 005.  200 is slightly lavender in real life.

604, 603, and 301.

305, 702, and 302.

402, 003, and 203.

These are decals that came in the cute limited edition trio sets that you will see a little further down.  Bonus!  I wasn't expecting them.

313, 312, and 105.  How cute are they?!  They came in a super cute tin, too.

106, 008, and 404.

Today I slapped on 105 and 008.  I'm embarrassed to even post this picture because of my awful nubby ring fingernail, but I can't deprive you of the goodness that is Anna Sui nail polish.  It is a beautiful thing.

If you didn't already know, her polishes are rose scented.  It's pretty cool!  I was worried that I wouldn't like the smell, but it's quite nice.  Someone even commented on it today because she thought it was my perfume and she liked it!  I thought that was fun.  Another little fact - the top of the rose bottle handles are sculpted into a rose shape, too.  Apparently roses are where it's at.

Yes, I bought so much.  I knew I would get a lot, but I didn't know I would go crazy like that!  They were out of stock on some really sweet colors, which is so sad, but I'm trying to focus on the positives here.  I scored.  Yes I did.  If you ever have a chance to go to the Anna Sui boutique with is on Greene Street in Soho, please make it happen.  It's worth it.  It's so incredibly awesome.  And her cosmetics are out of this world, as well.  I got some amazing eye makeup - all of it indescribably shimmahrific and glittertastic.

Today I bought the new Fall collection of Sephora by OPIs.  I also nabbed Nars Tokaido Express, a lovely deep purple.  Stay tuned, peeps!

My peeps! I miss you all. I've been very busy the last week, thus no posts. :( Boo! Hiss! I know. It's tragic. I just wanted to post a short note letting you know that I will back with a vengence very soon (most likely I will be posting pics Monday, if not Sunday night).

I was in NYC on business this week and scored HUGE at the Anna Sui boutique in Soho. OMG I cannot wait to show you all the goodies I picked up. Tons of nail polish, of course!! I don't think I've ever spent so much money all at once, unexpectedly, before. I mean, I knew I was going to buy a lot of polish there but I also went a bit wild with the cosmetics. Her stuff is TO- DIE- FOR.

Right now I'm in Michigan and happened to snag some awesome Missonis and Nicole by OPIs at Meijer. *sigh* I miss Meijer so much and really wish we had them where I live.

My nails are a hot hairy mess as I type this. I only hope I can whip them into some semblance of a decent shape soon!

Hiya!  I hope you are having a fabulous Saturday.  For you I have Nubar Reclaim, a perfectly perfect green holographic polish.  The application was just swell.  This is two coats.  There is some controversy, if you will, about putting a top coat over holo polishes.  I've been told that it lessens the intensity of the holographic effect.  The pictures are with Nubar Diamont top coat.  I can't bear to not wear a top coat!

Last night I busted out my super holy Chanel Nuit de Russie.  I was encouraged by MissH on MUA nail board to not hoard my Chanels but use 'em and love it!  Thanks!  I do love it.  Here it is, in all its glory, two coats with Poshe.

Below is a picture from last night.  It shows the glowiness of the blue shimmer in a different way.

Indoors it looks nearly black.  The next picture is just kind of silly, but I wanted to include it because I think it's cool looking!  These are some lovelies that I bought at Sephora yesterday.  They are new metallic liquid eyeliners from Too Faced and also a "Tattoo" liner in blue from Kat Von D.  I'm a total makeup junkie.  I look at this picture and it just kills me how perfect they all look - like they are floating above my hand or something.  :D  Yeah, yeah, call me crazy.

Thanks for stopping in and stay dizzy!!

Hello!  I'm back from the dead - or a few really, really demanding days at work.  Same thing, right?  Here is Barry M Baby Blue!  I love baby blue and this nail polish is super dreamy.  This is three coats.

Next is Silver Sea, also from Barry M.  It's a pretty aquamarine blue with silver glitter.  I think this was two coats.

The picture above is dark, but shows the glitter nicely.  Below is the same polish, just with a flash.

Last is Color Club Wild Child, three coats.  It's a gorgeous, vibrant cool-toned green.  It reminds me a bit of China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise, but maybe a smidge more green.  The pictures below are not exactly color accurate, but give you an idea of how awesome it is!

Here is a picture of the most excellent Nfu-Oh #69 with a wee bit of GS03 on top (from the new glitter series).  I didn't realize until after I finished them that I hardly got any of the big holo chunks on the nails!  That's okay.  It's still super cool.  Big chunks are a challenge to work with.  They don't want to stay on the brush and if you're overzealous you can end up with a huge blob of polish on your nail!

Here is a request from my awesome friend, CUP, who wanted to see Misa Heaven White with Nfu-Oh GS02 over it.  It's pretty hard to see the delicate shimmer with the flash, but I picked out the best pictures that hopefully give you an idea of how cool it looks.

It is very pretty and clean, yet stands out and comes across quite elegant, I have to say!

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
