Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

I have had a tumultuous relationship thus far with Glitter Gal's Light as a Feather polish.

After two failed attempts to use it the other day (results were no bueno), I decided to give it another go today. I started with Seche Vite top coat (I've heard that this makes a good Aqua Base substitute) and then did three coats, waiting around five minutes or more between coats.

It's better! But I have lots of bubbles. :( Bubbles are unacceptable, Nation. I cannot live with bubbles. Oh, and the picture above is my favorite.

I've since added a coat of Gelous over top, at the advice of the awesome women of MUA (Nail Board, of course). This seems to have helped a tiny bit, and thankfully, does not appear to have dulled the holo whatsoever.

The picture below is included to show you the truth of the bubble situation. It is not for the faint of heart. Look away if you must!!

I'm thinking that I may need to put some China Glaze Shooting Stars over it all.

Update! I have since added KleanColor My Valentine. See what you think.

I actually really like how it turned out!

I know it takes away from the subtleness of the holo, but I just couldn't live with the bumpiness.

And I love the colors of the glitters together. :)

You can still see the holo peeking through a little.

What do you think? Will you forgive me for my glittery sins?

EDIT: Afterthoughts. This mani hardly made it past the 12 hour mark! I'm wondering if it's the SV as a base coat that is to blame. It just peeled off in sheets, like plastic stickers. :( Oh well! You win some, YOU LOSE SOME.

Ooooh! I can't stop staring!

Despite the bubbles, I really like the subtle holo :D

I got bubbles when I applied Light As A Feather too :(

OnceBitten - somehow it makes me feel much better to know that I'm not the only one! :/

This polish is amazing!!
But I have to admit I don't really like the combo )=

rock-or-not - no worries! I had a feeling it might not suit everyone's tastes. :) The one thing I'm a little sad about with My Valentine is that the base seems to have a hint of murky greenness where I would prefer it to be perfectly clear or a more flattering tint!

I'm sorry for all the bubbling. I'm disappointed because I thought this was suppose to be a "white holo" it looks grey to me so it's not so special. Did you apply it too thick...maybe that's why it bubbled? I like valentine over it..it's such a pretty glitter. When I bought KC Afternoon Picnic the base was clear within a month it turned to a murky "pee color". The glitters must have melted alittle. Now it looks nasty eek! All in all your mani turn out beautiful :D

rmcandlelight - thanks for the sympathy! I guess I might have done too thick of coats because it was kind of a streaky and sheer formula that I was trying to make look good. I even thinned it, but it was still acting thick and difficult for me. I haven't tried Afternoon Picnic yet because I'm a little intimidated by the ginormous glitters!! Silly KleanColors - they are a bit weird. But so pretty (at least, at first!).

wow its a really pretty colour, such a shame about the bubbles :(

shel xx

I like that manicure! Beautiful color combination and amazing top coat:P

I agree with rock or not.

I really like this color and have been thinking of getting it along with the lizard belly cus I loves green. You say it bubbles? I have never tried her polishes and they are a bit pricey so have hesitated to get them so far. Anyway thank you so much for the heads up. I will see if anybody I know has some on hand for me to try

This Is Me!

I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
