This is Finger Paints Plum Startled. I believe I used three coats here.
It's a beautiful deep purple with iridescent shimmer. What is not to love?!

This is my first real Shimmer Polish success! I really love this.
I started with a coat of the Finger Paints black polish (I'm forgetting the name at the moment).
Then, I added a coat of Natalie. I believe I finished with Gelous and then Butter London's top coat. It was not completely smooth, but very close to it.
I'm sure this would look really cool over lots of colors! I suppose my default base has become black because it makes everything pop out all dramatic like. :)
This reminds me of some cosmic acid trip or something. It's so lively and zany!

I recently ordered a bunch of Shimmer polishes from Etsy here. I couldn't take it any longer, seeing such pretty pictures of them on other blogs! All the glitter! All the shimmer! I love.
This is two coats of Alice over two coats of Orly Shine. I used Gelous and Dior top coat over that, but it was not smooth yet. I ended up taking off this mani after a few hours because my right thumb got messed up and I was frustrated with a few other little things, but I'm definitely going to be trying Alice again in the future. I don't know why, but I often end up disliking glitters over foils. It's something to do with the appearance of texture.

I used just two coats and finished with Dior's top coat, which is something new for me. I've always wanted to try the Dior top coat and recently bought it. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I know I'm not a fan of the big brush...but formula wise, I need more time to fully evaluate it. First impressions: very thin and doesn't dry as fast as I'd like.
These pictures were taken on day two, and I guess that's why I have a small chip on my pinky tip. Oh well. At least I managed to get pictures at all! Last week was kind of crazy. Since I haven't said so yet, I'll say now that I really love Phoenix Rising. It's shimmery and fabulous and I always enjoy a good copper. The other two colors in the set look very promising as well!

I wore this fun and bright mani very recently. I did opposite accent nails on my hands - so, right hand was all Illamasqua Wink except for my ring finger which was Illamasqua Jo'mina. Left hand, which you see here, is all Jo'mina except the ring finger, which is Wink! I used two coats of each Illamasqua.
You with me, still? Then I did a carefully dabbed on coat of Lynnderella Early Halloween over every nail. That was followed by a zillion top coats and it still wasn't quite smooth (I'm exaggerating, but you know how it goes).
I LOVE the yellow flowers! I got one on my ring finger and also on a thumb. I didn't get any orange hearts out, but could see one in the bottle. I really enjoy the surprise of something unexpected hitting your nail while painting with a Lynnderella. :)
Please, please, please pardon my sore spot near the middle finger. I had a cuticle incident and have attempted to fuzz it out so as not to totally horrify anyone, but you can still tell it's red there.

I received Kitsune, Kawako, and Oni just yesterday and was happy as could be to swatch them for you this morning.
All swatches are shown with base coat, two coats of of polish, and a coat of top coat. Kitsune is a golden peachy nude color with red tiny glitters, golden shimmers, and holo bits.
I think it's really fresh and pretty. It reminds me of beautiful golden sands or some kind of exotic bird egg shell! The formula is on the thick side and will likely benefit from some thinner.
If I were wearing this as a mani, I would definitely add an extra coat of top coat as well, to make the finish more smooth.
Next is Kawako, a beautiful deep blue.
When I saw the bottle, I thought for sure this would be my favorite. It's dark, blue, super shimmery and glittery...what's not to love?!
I must confess that I had some difficulty in application. I ended up redoing my ring finger for the swatch pictures. The first go around was very lumpy bumpy due to bits of flakies hiding in the polish.
You can see the texture showing above. It would for sure need extra topcoat and you do want to be careful in applying it. Thin coats seem to help, but even still, things get a bit tricky on the second coat.
I don't personally get the point of the flakie pieces in this particular polish as they don't seem to be apparent or visible. Perhaps it is meant to be layered thinly over something else? I'm just not sure.
It's still quite pretty and I'm a big fan of the twinkling silver and blue glitters and shimmers.
I'd like to try a thin coat of Kawako over black some time.
Now for my head over heels favorite, Oni!
Oni easily has my heart. It's a blackish base with tons of yellow gold, white gold, purple, and what appears to be black glitters and shimmers. Some of the pieces are irregular shaped, albeit very small.
The overall effect is absolutely stunning! I heart it so much.
Application and formula were excellent.
This is a polish I can see myself wearing a lot. It's dark and brooding, regal and sparkly, and totally badazz.

This is my first post using Nostalgic Lacquer! Hooray! I was recently able to snatch up some of her Halloween limited edition polishes as well as regular polishes I've been wanting for some time now.
I ordered them from the Nostalgic Lacquer shop site here. The hard part is that you have to have perfect timing in terms of when the shop is stocked. I got lucky and was tipped off on a nail polish forum. I expect you can also get updates on Facebook (I'm merely speculating).
Here I've used three somewhat generous coats of B*tchcraft polish, topped with two coats of Butter London top coat.
When I first started painting my nails, I was a little taken aback by the ugliness of the base color. I say that with a lot of love for all colors, I really do! I was just worried at how it was going to turn out all on its own, without any underwear.
By the time I was done painting, I really loved it! It's so ugly it's PRETTY! This polish rocks. I love the glitters and the jelly base. Despite having a few small bubbles, I'm really pleased with this polish and mani. Also, the application was quite easy.
P.S. My previous mani, with Hits Borealis, lasted a whole entire week. A WEEK! That is absolutely nutso. I still can't believe it. :) I think that is a personal record!
