Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

 This post is full of many, many pictures, just so you know.
 I started my manicure journey yesterday with two coats of the ever lovely Milani Dot Com.
 Can I just state the obvious here?  This polish is STUNNING!
 It was very sheer and almost runny on the first coat, so I was quite surprised and pleased that everything pulled together so well with the second coat.
 No top coat here because I had plans to put Lynnderella Mercurial on top.
 Okay, so I don't even want to post these sad pictures because this combination gave me grief, Nation.
 But we're all here to live and learn, right?  Right.  Here I had added two coats of Lynnderella Mercurial (learn more about Lynnderella at her blog here), a coat of Lynnderella Glitter Tamer, and then a coat of Poshe.
 The problem, the thing that drove me nearly crazy yesterday, was that the Glitter Tamer gave me a meeeellion tiny bubbles.  I'm just not having great luck with it yet, for various boring reasons.
 You can't see the bubbles too much in the above picture, thankfully, but UGH, they are there.  Trust me if you can't see them in any of the pictures.  All eleventy billion of them were there mocking me.
 Also, I just wasn't happy with how the pictures turned out anyway.  Mercurial is maybe a bit hard to photograph!
 Okay, now here we are today.  The picture above is under my little Ikea lamp on my polish painting desk, thus the extreme gold tone of the lighting.  I was trying to show off the awesome and complicated shimmer in Mercurial.
 Here I have used two coats of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, one well-worked coat of Lynnderella Mercurial, a coat of Gelous, a coat of Cult Nails' top coat, and finally a coat of Seche Vite.  (I used a base coat, too, of course).
 I love LPAD, and this is weirdly my first time ever wearing it.  It does remind me a lot of a-england Lancelot in the final effect, though, so maybe I could have just used that and saved a coat in the process!  LPAD leans ever so slightly more purple, though, where Lancelot looks mostly just black and has a teeny bit of red to it.
 I digress!  At any rate, this mani is a major success for me.  Hooray!
 Mercurial is still hard to capture in photographs, but hopefully you have an idea of its extreme and moody awesomeness.
 My favorite part?  On the thumb nail here.  It's really hard, if not impossible to see, but there is a ginormous black hex glitter near the middle, a little to the right, and a little toward the top.  LOVE IT!
 I love me some surprise crazy glittah.
 Oh!  And if you hadn't noticed, my nails are shorter today, yes.  I had a little break starting on one, so I just took them all back to nubs.
 I'm fine with the nubs.  I've actually come to really like them short now.

 This blessed manicure wore for three wonderful days!
 I used two coats of a-england Galahad and then two coats of Lynnderella Connect the Dots.
 I think I had a some tiny bubbles, but honestly I didn't even care because they blended in with the delicate shimmer particles.
 I really adore how this turned out.
 I know I stole the base color idea from a friend on the nail board (I can't remember exactly who, so speak up if it's you!).  I saw it a long time ago and it stuck out in my head as awesome.
 Also, I've been wanting to use this Lynnderella polish for some time now but was feeling unsure of exactly what to put under it.  I think probably everything would look good under it, but I wanted it to be nothing short of spectacular.
 Here's how my right hand turned out.  I think I may like it a little better, but both looked great really.  Check out the black glitter over the white glitter on my middle finger!  That's my favorite part.  :)

 Right now I'm wearing three coats of Anna Sui 904.
 Her polishes are now in new dress bottles!  They are super cute (and also 2 mL smaller than the old rose bottles).
 Sorry about the picture above being blurry - I just wanted to show you how it looks in lower lighting.  It's very dark, but does still look green.
 This color has some awesome blue and green shimmer in it!
 It applied very nicely and was almost a two-coater, but needed the third to even out everything.  I got a little shrink at my tips, I think because I paired the wrong top coats together (Orly In a Snap and Seche Vite).
The polishes still smell like roses, yes.  I ordered this and others off of Urban Outfitter's website.

 This is two coats of OPI Visions of Sugarplum.
 It's a vampy, utterly delicious, deep purple with iridescent shimmer.
 I'd say it's glass-flecked shimmer; smaller particles than most, but still looks like it to me!
 This kind of color just plain makes me want to smile.  I'm so happy wearing it!!
 I was actually debating whether or not to layer something over it, but I couldn't bear to do it.  It's just too darn pretty on its own.
It's not actually duochrome, no, but I think the sky is reflecting in my nails above.  Still a cool picture!

I ordered this off of Amazon recently.

 This is my first time wearing magnetic polish for my mani!
 I started with a single coat of Illamasqua Boosh.  Then I added a coat of Layla Magneffect Velvet Groove.
 I forgot how the magnet orientation worked, so I accidentally ended up with vertical lines.  It's all good, though!
 It reminds me of pulled sugar or taffy or some sort of confection (I am not a candy maker, but maybe you know what I'm thinking of).  :)
I only wish my nails were flatter, maybe, because I wish more of the cool effect would hit the sides of my nails.  Is that weird?  I ordered this and some other colors from Amazon.

 These are some SKINFOOD Party Tox swatches I did a few weeks ago.  The bottle above is No. 7 Pearl Party and it corresponds with my index finger.  I used one coat of the glitter over a coat of black polish (DC Matte Black) for all of these.  I also used top coat so that they would look good and shiny.  :)
 The bottle above is No. 8 Aqua Party and it goes with my middle finger.
 The bottle above is No. 9 Deep Sea Party, and you guessed it, it corresponds with my ring finger.
Last is No. 5 Seaweed Party and it's on my pinky nail.  I think it looks really cool over the black.

I ordered these off of Ebay.  I'm a little flustered because I think I may have No. 6 Coral Party in my possession, but I'm actually not positive.  This is the downside to having a huge stash and not having any spreadsheet or easy method of organization.  If I find it, I'll have to swatch it!  But then again, maybe I didn't even buy it.

 I *just* took pictures of these a few minutes ago.  They've been on since either Wednesday or Thursday night (I can't even remember!).
 They are the Sally Hansen Salon Effects appliques in "Hard Wired," from the Halloween collection.
 These lovely macro pictures really show my ridges!!  They don't look nearly so ridge-y in real life.
Aside from a few small nicks and some fairly minor tip wear, I'd say they are doing ah-may-zing for being on day 5 or 6 or whatever.  I've learned - the hard way - not to put base under them.  Granted, with the last set I used Gelous underneath and that was just a horrible decision all around.  Gelous never did well for me as a base!  In any case, the silver spiderwebs started chipping badly within a day or two.  :(  I've also learned that a couple of my fingers give me trouble with a perfect fit.  For those, all I have to do is carefully trim the stickers just a bit and that does the trick really well.
