 Here are a few pictures of my one and only Marc Jacobs nail polish, Petra.  I used two coats here.

 It applied easily but didn't wear so well (I blame that on one of my infamous top coat experiments).

 I only used two coats here.  No base or top coat!  And it wore very nicely for about five days!!

 While it's not super holo or gorgeous in indirect light, it's still quite nice.  I love how quick and easy these are.  I wore Cherubic on a visit to see family, which made for a very easy mani change while away from home.  They apply great, dry quick, and last well.  Yay for Halo Hues!!!!

 Now this is my first time wearing a Jin Soon nail polish.  This is two coats of Azurite (with base and top coat).  It's a lovely deep blue with a relatively subtle holo effect.

 It's gorgeous!  I love it!

 This one didn't wear too great on me - I forget why.  I've been doing too much experimenting lately with various new-to-me top coats and even bases.  I think I just got some tip wear (bordering on a chip) that annoyed me, so I changed after a couple of days (that's not uncommon for me with very dark, saturated colors).

 This is two coats of Orly Miss Conduct.

 It's such a happy, cheery color.

 The scattered holo effect is quite beautiful!

 And just to speed up my super slow attempt at catching up - here is another one for you!  Misa Grey Matters.

 I believe this was two coats also.

 I had no troubles with application on either.  Easy breezy!

 This is two coats of Sephora X Perplexed.

 It's a metallic steel color with gold shimmer - or should I say small gold glitters?  Large shimmer...small glitter.  Something like that.

 The gold - whatever it is - has a lovely twinkle to it.  Very magical in person!

 My swell husband helped me to get the new Lynnderella Holiday collection.  Isn't he great?!  This is my first mani using one of those fine, fine polishes.  I chose The Present is a Gift for my first one.  :)

 The tall and skinny StrangeBeautifuls need to be used with care, I find, or else you can easily knock them over whilst painting your nails!

 Okay, back to pretty, fancy, glittah pictures!  These glitters are just magical.

 I used one coat of The Present is a Gift, doing a combination of painting and then dabbing movements.  The glitters gave me no trouble at all during application.

 I smoothed it out and finished with a coat of Gelous, a coat of Sephora X top coat, and finally a coat of Seche Vite.  My favorite spot on this mani is where the two black diamonds almost meet on my ring finger.  :)

 I've had this on for four days now, and oddly, it seems like longer.  This is four thin coats of OPI The World is Not Enough.

 I used Sephora X base coat under it and Sephora X top coat over top.  For whatever reason, the X base and top combined with OPI has been giving me better than normal wear!  Hooray!

 It's still not as good as my nine days with X polish...but four or five days with OPI is novel and fun for me!

 I tried to wear this one earlier and had some icky bubbling, likely because I went too fast.  I say "too fast," but really it was as fast as I normally go (not waiting between coats or anything).  This type of polish, I find, really needs some patience and babying.  What should I even call this finish?  Metallic shimmer?!  It's freaking gorgeous, whatever it is.

 So, yeah, just GO SLOW, and it will all be okay and be totally worth it.  I waited between my coats, I made sure to do thinner coats than normal (thus the need for four coats), and presto-magic-o, my mani was near perfect!

 Also, just so you know, this is way prettier in person than in pictures.  It's super shiny and metallic looking.  In some lights it appears a bit purple to me, which I really enjoy.

 I needed a clean and simple mani the other night, so I chose Zoya Kristen.  I used two coats here, followed by Essie Good to Go.

 Kristen is always going to remind me a time not too long ago when I painted my nails with it, then dropped a bunch of cashews into the crack of my couch cushions, reached in after them, and immediately regretted it as my nails were not nearly dry enough to perform that kind of maneuver!!  That was a sad, late mani night for me.  But I can look back and laugh.  :)

 Now I'm wearing it for real, and I love this color.  It's so clean and serene.  Which brings me to the more important question:  what top coat do you like to use with Zoyas?!  I feel like I'm always asking and wondering this.  I'm yet to find the perfect one.  I used to use Poshe but I think it was not giving me the wear time I desire.  I've tried Seche Vite with mixed results.  Years ago I tried the Zoya Color Lock system (which was brutally slow on me).  I've done Out the Door, Orly In a Snap, and now Essie Good to Go.  I think I've only tried my beloved Butter London top coat with a Zoya once now, and have had bad results (on only one nail, oddly enough).  There might be others I'm forgetting.

 I can never seem to remember the name of this one - I'm not sure why!  Sugar House Lane.

 I wore this for about three days.  I used two coats, no clean up needed, and followed with two coats of Instant Artificials and two coats of $OPI quick dry top coat.  Not entirely smooth, but close enough!

 This has a pretty taupe base that is a bit gray and a bit purpley as well.  The glitters look to be white and black, but after removing it last night, I'm going to authoritatively say that they are in fact black and silver!

 It's two coats of Purple Smoke from an up-and-coming brand called Contrary Polish.

 It has blue, pink, and purple delicate shimmers in a smoky gray base that leans sort of purple (at times it looked to be leaning blue - but I was also wearing a dusty gray blue t-shirt that day and it seemed to match almost perfectly!).

 I love these dusty ambiguous colors.  And the shimmer is just wonderful!

 Application was a breeze.  I did end up using three coats on my thumbs, so perhaps I should have done three thinner coats on all the nails.
