DizzyNails

Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

I've been mildly obsessed with Illamasqua Purity as of late.  I just love how it looks on me.
I'm pretty sure you've seen it here before - now you'll see it again with Lynnderella Ice the Snowcake over top!  I adore this combo.
I used 1-2 coats of Ice the Snowcake, using brush stroke movements as well as dabbing.  Mostly the glitters were well behaved - only once did I have trouble with them wanting to clump up on each other.
As I recall, I used two coats of Gelous and then finished with Sephora X top coat.  Not perfectly smooth, but super shiny and good enough for me!  :)  I wonder if I'll ever tire of Purity.

Here is Pahlish Your Lover is an Actress over black.
I used one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore (dare I say, my new favorite black), one coat of YLiaA, a coat of Gelous, and then Sephora X top coat.
I started with base coat, too, of course.  I always use base coat, even when I don't mention it.  The base coat of choice these days has been Sephora X.
Okay, so this stunning polish has a deep purple jelly base which gets lost over the black.  That's okay, though.  I needed a quick and easy way to wear it and this did the trick just fine for me.
Application was easy and the glitters were well behaved.  I love how it looks so jeweled!
What would you wear it over?  Or would you be a purist and just wear it by itself?  :)

This is two coats of Orly Miss Conduct.
It's such a happy, cheery color.
The scattered holo effect is quite beautiful!
And just to speed up my super slow attempt at catching up - here is another one for you!  Misa Grey Matters.
I believe this was two coats also.
I had no troubles with application on either.  Easy breezy!
The tiny speckles make it interesting for sure.

Time for some BLING.  This is Nars Disco Inferno with OPI Which is Witch?
I used three coats of Disco Inferno and made sure to let each coat dry just a bit before moving onto the next (I've learned that sheer shimmers like to bubble on me if I rush them).
I would have done four coats of Disco Inferno if I was going to wear it on its own, but since I layered Which is Witch? over top, it was good enough at three.
One coat of OPI Which is Witch?, a coat of Gelous, and a coat of Sephora X top coat finished it off.
I don't usually like glitters over any metallic looking sort of polishes, but this one works pretty good I think.  It's just fun to have the duochrome and the holo glitters together!
I'm trying to catch up on my posts.  I feel like I'm so far behind!  Wish me luck.  :)

This is Illamasqua Swinger, two coats.
Application was terrific and I barely needed clean-up.  Wait - maybe I didn't even do clean-up.
Check out the gorgeous sparklies in the sun!
The holo is very subtle, but definitely makes this one extra special for me.

And just because, a picture of a beautiful baby Masai giraffe from about a week ago.  I don't know if this is a boy or girl, but I do know that he/she is just shy of two months old here.
If you ever get a chance to go to the Brevard County Zoo, do go!  Such an awesome little zoo.  I always have a blast there.  :)

The Robots have arrived!!  This is going to be a huuuge post with a zillion pictures.  Just sayin'.  And check out the cute new 4ml bottles!
Ready or not, here we go!  These are all swatches I did using just base coat and one coat of polish.  I did not use any clean up (forgive me!).  If I was going to wear any of these for a mani, I'd probably opt for a second coat of polish, just because.  You could get away with only one coat if you were careful to avoid streaks.
The formula on all of the foils was easy to work with.  I did notice that they can get brush-strokey - so just keep that in mind.  Dry time was good.
I haven't worn any as manis, yet, so I cannot comment on wear time.
One of my brushes had a few stray "hairs" that I decided to trim, otherwise, all brushes were perfect.
Femme Bot is described as a "sparkling metallic peony."
Now that I've rambled on about the important things, I'm going to leave you (mostly) to enjoy the pictures!  I hope you like them.
Dusty Bot is described as a "sparkling metallic lavender."
You can see that I struggled with brush strokes a little bit on this one.  LOVE the color.

Skyward Bot is described as a "sparkling metallic cerulean."

I've been craving a foily metallic blue lately, so this one fits the bill quite nicely!

Bitty Love Bot is described as a "sparkling metallic aqua."
This one surprised me by being my favorite of the bunch.  Maybe I just like how it looks against my skin.  Super pretty color!

Lucky Bot is described as a "sparkling metallic agave."
Please pardon the little hiccup on my ring finger.  It might have been a bubble.  I'm not sure.

Yoshimi is described as "a truly mod black & white combination of glitters sprinkled with a bit of iridescence."  It would be a great topper on any of these polishes and I'm sure plenty of others!
I used about a coat of it here.  I did go back over a few spots on my index and middle fingers - so those two fingers had more like a coat and a half each.
Also, my coat may have been too thick on my ring finger since I think I see some bubbles.
I think this is a really chic combination here, but I'm also pondering that I might like Yoshimi even more over a creme or shimmer finish.  I tend not to love glitters over top of very metallic polishes.
Overall, I really enjoy The Robot Collection by Rainbow Honey!  While it's not a super unique collection in terms of colors or finish, I find it to be fresh, girly, fun, and well made.  They really are lovely colors for Spring!
The Robot Collection will be available on rainbowhoney.com and with participating retail partners on April 5th!  You can get it with full-sized 15ml bottles or the new 4ml bottles.

This collection was graciously provided to me for review purposes by Rainbow Honey, to whom I am extremely grateful and honored.  What you read here was my honest opinion...blah blah blah.  :)

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
